village building for depression
share your medicine and find a sense of belonging
Depression is the suppression of self
The fatigue, chronic body pain, and constant anxiety is your nervous system on red alert screaming SLOW DOWN
Our bodies have so much intelligence and you can trust when it’s time to rest and regroup, you will feel it
Our nervous systems are on red alert because of the codependency or the need for approval for a sense of safety in the world
While this is human and it’s natural to this experience, it can certainly become unhealthy
We’ve been running around taking care of everyone and people pleasing everyone and not tending to our inner child
Not spending time with the parts of ourselves that need to be expressed
In village building we are training our psyche and body it’s safe to be us in the world.
Village building is another way of saying building a business and with a focus on the African Ancestral ways when suicides were a rare occurrence
As healers, entrepreneurs, and organizers of the African Diaspora, this is the invitation right now.
Finding your own sense of belonging in the world rather than waiting for your existing relationships to catch up to your growth is hard, I know
And from my own journey I can say it’s worth it
Liberate (the app & the village) have become places of healing for me because when I get on a 20 minute call with them and hear how my work impacts them, it’s training myself to feel more comfortable with being me
Trauma happens in relationship so must be healed in relationship
You can do all the healing with yourself and you will not get free
There will always be a cap to your self love
In this new 28 minute video I talk about village building a little more in depth for the first time - more about my philosophy and how to get started
This is a topic I'm REALLY passionate about so if the video or this email resonates, holla! (Cell 2035542335, email email@example.com)
