CHRIST WAS AFRIKAN - JESUS LOOKS LIKE YOU! 2 MIN
I’m welcoming in a new Ancestral African Dance single called CHRIST WAS AFRIKAN.
As I share in the 5 min video below, Christ came to remind people to LOOK UP from their books and LOOK IN. Look at the pain that’s happening in the world and look into your heart to find a connection TO THE MOST HIGH.
I find that we are in this same place culturally and spiritually.
What I’m seeing is a deep awakening within the African Diaspora.
THE ANCESTORS WHISPERS back into The Heart
The Heart holds all the wisdom.
We need to stop looking to others to save us and see that we are here to save ourselves.
We are here to save the village.
The original village is the family.
The African Family.
I don’t identify as a Christian because I don’t worship any man (African or European) but I DID create this song because I come from that spiritual lineage.
I grew up Catholic, both of my grandmothers still pray to a white Jesus, and Black Christian Pastors have had a big impact on me as well.
Sermons from Sarah Jakes Roberts and Michael Todd have helped me and guided me in my most darkest moments. They have given me faith when I didn’t want to be here AND also showed me it’s okay to love God in a big way.
Because I love uplifting Black women, if you resonate with Sarah Jakes Roberts sermons, DEFINITELY check out A Bold Move (sheesh she goes hard). Also in Lock In, she talks a lot about the body and she even keeps preaching after her wig comes off - talk about ANOINTED.
I’ve gone through many identity evolutions which if you’ve been around you’ve witnessed.
First I woke up to being a person of color, then Black, and now African.
I see this as different levels of consciousness.
Respectfully, most of the Black Christian movement is at this level 2.
If you consider yourself at level 3 (African consciousness) then you are in the right place. If you consider yourself at level 2 looking to go to level 3 then you are in the right place. If you want to be at level 1 and level 2 and stay there then this is not your village. I applaud and welcome your unsubscribe.
The remembering of the village is where we come together to realize it’s the village that is the savior not one of us. The paradox is we also have to feel WE ARE THE ONE.
You can hear this from me in THE ONE.
There is a certain time when you reach this emotional and psychological maturity and you start speaking out as big as me!
May we all heal in village even if this isn’t the one for you!
Join me later today Sunday June 25th at 7pm EST for 90 minutes as we come back into our hearts and play. Play for our inner children and play for the children in THIS lifetime.
The vocals I sampled was from a talk Dr. Umar gave (YouTube link). The link goes right to where I grabbed this from in his speech so you can see a popular African and Black scholar as well as Psychologist talk about the impacts of praying to a white Jesus. I’m holding a lot of grief how this is psychologically impacting our children every day. Shout out to an elder in this work that is inspiring me!
