Something a lot of people will fight Dr. Umar on as he gets louder and more popular.
Maybe we’ll even have some Africans who will fight me on that he was white in these comments.
It’s a pretty radical statement in today’s colonial world so I hold this topic with sensitivity and grace.
First and foremost, if the white Jesus is what keeps you getting out of bed and out of depression and suicide ideation, I would invite you to take a breath and maybe not read this.
Maybe your nervous system isn’t ready to begin to chew on this and I applaud your no.
We need more consent and giving space for people’s NO in trauma-informed spaces.
For those who are ready, this is how we heal the white savior complex that lives within us.
The one that believes that the white man will save us.
WE ARE THE ONES WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
When you allow this truth to rest in our consciousness, watch how you’ll move through the world feeling more free to just be and feeling empowered to create the change you are calling in.
As you decolonize your heart and mind, we all benefit too because naturally you will start to feel a fire for bringing the village back and you will do something about it too!
