I believes these times we’re experiencing as a human collective is inviting us to look at our relationship to faith.
What is core to African Spirituality are two things: you have a purpose and The Ancestors are your “angels” giving you divine guidance.
My faith is being challenged pretty heavily more recently as I slow down to feel all of what’s happening, specifically in the Black community.
As uncertainty continues to rise and for humans a sense of safety and security is everything, I’m noticing that Black men and women more openly are continuing to disrespect each other for approval of the white man and to rise in the colonized context we live within.
I do believe we can create containers of healing together. I’ve seen it in visions and I my path is to keep trusting that we can heal our wounds to restore the sense of village and belonging.
With this path set out for me, I am praying most of the day for answers from The Ancestors.
I’ve been doing it so much I made a song out of it!
The Ancestors are not just those who have passed in my own lineage but those who have done this work of awakening our people - Marcus Garvey, Nina Simone, MLK, Malcom X
Who do you look to for strength and can you believe that there right there proud of you in this moment?
Proud of all that you are in this moment and with that can you take a big breath trusting that you are exactly where you are meant to be in this very moment.
That’s a difficult one for me, because I want to see RESULTS.
I want things to happen instantly.
I want blessings from The Ancestors and The Most High to be delivered like Amazon Prime.
The healing journey and spiritual path is a difficult and lonely one so it’s important to find ways to make it playful.
There are drums, atmospheric sounds, and my voice repeatedly saying “praying for some answers from The Ancestors.”
