Dreaming with our Elder, AGee!

Two African CHIEFS let their inner boys imagine a new reality for our children

For the African Diaspora, while it’s so important to educate and help people feel the pain we carry in our bodies from hate, it’s also so important to dream in new worlds for THIS GENERATION of African children and THE NEXT 7.

AGee! is an elder I’ve met through the Liberate community. He continuously shows up for me and helps me open my heart to the older masculine.

Today on Wed June 14 at 11am EST we gathered to recap our first CHIEF CAMPFIRE and recorded that conversation (full 43 min convo available to paying supporters below).

First here’s a 3 minute video where I ask him to introduce himself to ya’ll. Just a quick snippet - AGee aka Dr. G! is a therapist and psychologist. He’s practiced and taught graduate level clinical psychology for 30+ years. He said something powerful that shows his passion for our youth’s character development that he has done a lot of community service around.

“Along the way I had 3 daughters, and when they were young I said if I don’t put something into the young men in the community, then I can’t complain about what kind they bring home”. - BARS.

I am sharing more of his heart with ya’ll because there has been this growing awareness within me that part of creating a safer world for African children involves healing our relationship as a collective to ELDERSHIP.

In the beginning of our call, we opened with a prayer to THE ANCESTORS and I saluted him for his heart. This is one way to honor an elder who enters in a sacred space in this 3 minute video. (This is the first 3 minutes of a 43 minute long conversation).

The gems out of this call was when we dreamed together around an in-person week long or weekend retreat where we bring the youth in and help them FEEL and FEEL SAFE TO FEEL with older men. Watch our little boys really come out to play in this 3 minute clip.

This is the power of when different generations come together to dream a new reality. A week long in person or weekend retreat where we create the ANCIENT FUTURE together.
