U READY to become The Teacher?
Black man, Black youth, Black woman.
The one thing that will get in your way of you shining your light to the world is Imposter Syndrome
The voice inside of your head that either whispers or screams - Who do you think you are?
Another highly effective tool of colonialism that prevents us from owning our power as the African Diaspora
The more I sit with how hard it is just to be me everyday, the more I appreciate how Nina was so unapologetically her.
If you are feeling really tired. I’m not talking about the tired that just comes here and there or after you drank a little much red wine last night (lol)
It’s the exhaustion that’s been around for years, maybe even generations
If you are feeling this fatigue, it’s time for you to become who The Ancestors are calling you to be.
The Teacher.
This archetype that shares wisdom from a place of PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
Enough of the “you shoulds”
Own your own experience and the right people who are ready to be taught will come.
How do you know you are ready to teach? Well there will be people in front of you to teach.
If God/The Most High/Netjer gave you the platform, trust Her/Him/Them
You have to trust your heart and share your story.
As humans we gravitate towards stories
Our Ancestors told stories around the campfire for thousands of years
If you’ve read SAPIENS you know how storytelling as helped us evolve as human species
When young entrepreneurs (regardless of the age) ask me for advice, I always tell them - I need to feel more of you. I need your heart.
The best skill you can develop if you want to raise VC money, attract more clients, and improve any “KPIs” is get better at storytelling
Now that I’m trying to grow and restore the village the advice doesn’t change in this spiritual context
I am always learning how to tell my story more effectively
When I notice I am in the head I slow down and take a few deep breaths into the body and heart and I write from there
I started off writing heavily in my journal and now LIBERATEVILLAGE.COM has become that replacement
My personal story will not resonate with everyone, this is why we need yours
This is why I encourage this village to create a Substack account and share your story with us. Maybe even 1-3 sentences in the comments.
We need your medicine
And I understand everyone isn’t there yet so if you take a moment this weekend to even write 1 minute of your story, I celebrate you
It’s the little celebrations that add up to the big celebrations
It’s the little creative practices that lead up to the big creative wins
Try setting a timer, for just ONE minute and flow
Then after see if you can celebrate yourself with some movement or a glass of water
The extra credit here is if you celebrate yourself before the writing exercise
Because you are trying, The Ancestors are applauding you
Can you hear them? Can you see them?
Can you trust them?
